Willow Grove, PA (July 18, 2016) – Source One Management Services is proud to share the spend consultancy’s Associate Director, Diego De la Garza, has been recognized by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) as an Emerging Leader. Each year, the CSCMP Emerging Leader Award is granted to outstanding supply management professionals age 30 and younger for their significant contributions to the industry. The CSCMP Emerging Leader award adds to a list of supply management and procurement accolades the firm has received this year.

Among only three supply supply chain professionals receiving the CSCMP Emerging Leader award this year, De la Garza is recognized for his achievements as a procurement practitioner and spend management consultant for best-in-class organizations. His vast procurement and strategic sourcing experience includes budget optimization projects in a wide range of industries such as manufacturing, financial services, and technology. De la Garza is also a trusted resource for leading procurement transformation initiatives, delivering strategic guidance for optimizing processes, human capital, tools, and technology. In addition, De la Garza has played a crucial role in driving Source One’s expansion into the Midwest. He has continuously demonstrated leadership working to form the Midwest headquarters, from finding the right office location to developing the Chicago team.

“Receiving the Council or Supply Management Professionals’ Emerging Leader Award is an absolute honor.” shared De la Garza. “Winning the Emerging Leader Award is a reflection of Source One’s company culture -fostering a team of leaders at every career level. As a company we are continuously encouraging our consultants to take initiative and harness individual strengths to not only deliver results for our clients, but also continuously develop new spend management best practices and improve the procurement services we offer.”

One of his many accomplishments is his work building Source One’s Nearshoring Advisory Practice. Recognizing a growing client need for nearshoring services, De la Garza developed the practice from scratch, applying his language skills and knowledge of the Latin American market landscape. De la Garza established strong relationships with stakeholders in Mexico, including education institutions, businesses, and government agencies. In doing so, he created a mutual beneficial network that simplified the nearshoring process for Source One clients and improved the education of future supply chain management professionals.

As an industry thought leader, De la Garza regularly contributes to procurement white papers and blogs, and leads workshops during spend management conferences. In September of this year, De la Garza will be honored as an Emerging Leader during the CSCMP Annual Conference in Orlando in addition to presenting a session titled Sourcing from Mexico: The Supplier Development Challenge. De la Garza will discuss the factors creating the nearshoring trend and why more companies are transplanting supply chain operations from Asia to Mexico, the challenges of sourcing in Mexico, and ways to navigate the sourcing obstacles
