Database
Source One has
access to thousands of items and services that it is sourcing
daily. Source One uses this information in its strategic sourcing
projects to quickly see price points and identify
alternate vendors for our clients with relative ease.
Source One also subscribes to many indexes and commodity
databases that assist in determining market conditions across
many industries and product
categories.
In addition to
the historical project database described above, Source One owns a
proprietary database that is accessible by
all of their employees. This database contains a structured
vocabulary of over 70,000 product and service terms including over
35,000 preferred industry terms, and 35,000 synonyms.
The 70,000 terms are structured into multiple categories across all
industries, and can be related to one another based on the product
and service groupings it belongs to. Additionlly, the database
has 1.3 million attributes and values for classifying and
identifying services down to a category level. The database
also provides cross-mappings to the industry recongnized UNSPSC,
NAICS, and SIC classification systems.
