Members of the Source One Team Lend a Hand at Cradles to Crayons to Help with Back-to-School Orders
Willow Grove, PA (August 30, 2018) – Members of the strategic sourcing team at Source One, a Corcentric company, came together to lend a hand at the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory. Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization based out of the Philadelphia area with the goal of providing impoverished children with the essentials they need to thrive – at home, at school, or at play.
Source One’s team of procurement experts volunteered at the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory to help the organization prepare for the back-to-school season by sorting donations. Cradles to Crayons effectively supports thousands of impoverished children through their three step model:
- Collecting new and nearly new children’s items (clothes, toys, school supplies, and more) through grassroots community drives and corporate donation
- Processing and packaging donations with the help of volunteers in their warehouse, The Giving Factory®
- Distributing packages from The Giving Factory to disadvantaged children through their network of diverse partners
Together, the procurement consultants sorted and packaged clothing that will be distributed to children over the upcoming weeks as they prepare to head back to school. In addition to the opportunity to give back to the community, the event was a great team building activity -providing a collaborative outlet beyond the realm of strategic sourcing initiatives.
“Lending a hand in anyway to Cradles to Crayons is always a valuable experience,” shared VP of Operations, William Dorn. “It allows our team to think about supply relationships outside of our typical strategic sourcing process and work together to support a fantastic cause.”
Giving back to the community is a core value at Source One. As a procurement consultancy with decades of history in the Philadelphia area, members of the strategic sourcing team regularly get together to support local non-profits.
