Source One's Procurement Experts Volunteer with Brandywine Valley SPCA and Chicago's Anti-Cruelty Society
Willow Grove, PA (February 16, 2018) – This past Valentine’s Day, the Procurement experts at Source One Management Services’ Willow Grove and Chicago offices teamed up with local animal advocacy groups to support their mission in providing care for homeless cats and dogs. The Philadelphia-area Procurement team supported the Brandywine Valley SPCA by baking dog biscuits for its West Chester shelter. In the Windy City, the sourcing specialists participated in the Anti-Cruelty Society’s Crafting Crew program. Both events were a welcome opportunity to build camaraderie while serving a worthy cause.
“We’re animal lovers at Source One,” says VP of Professional Services Joe Payne. “Many of our team members have adopted their pets through similar organizations so we’re eager to do our part in making that possible for other animals by lending a hand to these shelters. It’s a great opportunity for us to come together as a team beyond our spend management work for our clients and make a difference in our community.”
Pennsylvania’s first no-kill, open admission shelter, the Brandywine Valley SPCA has pursued its mission since 1929. Today, they operate seven locations and offer support for over 13,000 animals every year. This month’s event marked the second time the procurement consulting firm has partnered with the Philadelphia-area non-profit. Once again, the team lent their supply management skills to procure biscuit ingredients and work together to bake and deliver dog biscuits for the homeless K9s. Delivering weeks worth of treats, the cost reduction team made life a little easier for dozens of animals in need.
The Chicago team’s efforts proved similarly helpful for the Anti-Cruelty Society . Founded in 2002, the Anti-Cruelty Society’s mission is to build a community of caring by helping pets and educating people. Creating dog toys from everyday objects, Source One’s Chicago team helped ensure that the city’s shelter animals remain happy, healthy, and comfortable while they wait on a loving home.
These events are only the beginning of Source One’s volunteer efforts for 2018. The technology-enabled procurement support team looks forward to another year of both cost savings and community service.
