Willow Grove, PA (December 6, 2016)- Source One Management Services is pleased to accept the Supply and Demand Chain Executive’s (SDCE) 2016 Green Supply Chain Award.  SDCE annually recognizes industry-leading organizations for their efforts in advancing the role of sustainability within supply chain management operations. This honor marks the fifth consecutive year Source One’s cost reduction experts have been recognized for enabling future-thinking companies to achieve their environmentally-friendly supply chain goals.

“We’re thrilled to be honored by Supply and Demand Chain Executive Magazine with the 2016 Green Award. The win is a symbol of our commitment and success to enabling our client’s sustainability goals through strategic sourcing,” explains Source One’s VP of Operations, William Dorn. “It is our job as a procurement services firm to provide the resources and subject matter expertise necessary for our clients to achieve their cost reduction and supply management goals. Often we find that companies are under the false impression that greening supply chain operations is synonymous with higher costs. We take pride in our ability to deliver the market intelligence and supply base options that prove facing higher costs isn’t necessarily the case and that implementing green supply chain practices also offers long-term operational advantages.”

Greening supply chain operations is a growing priority for forward-thinking organizations as consumers are increasing concerned with the sustainable and ethical practices of the brands they purchase. However, many companies are challenged by a lack of market insight for identifying and implementing the right sustainable solutions within their supply chain operations. Many companies forego green initiatives altogether fearing their interruption of cost-reduction goals. It is this precise misconception Source One’s cost reduction experts aim to dispel through proven strategic sourcing methodologies.

The cost reduction firm is recognized this year for their work incorporating sustainable supply management for clients in a wide range of industries, including consumer packaged goods, utilities, and manufacturing. Among the highlights is Source One’s success identifying supply base solutions for a producer of plant-based foods, which ensured agricultural bi-product would not go to waste and would be further used to feed livestock at local farms. In addition, the cost reduction firm also supported a leading manufacturer in identifing and adopt eco-friendly office equipment that also produced 12% savings.

2017 is a highly anticipated year for the cost reduction consulting firm. Source One looks forward to celebrating its 25th Anniversary. In addition, the supply management consultancy returns to the Institute for Supply Management Annual Conference (ISM2017) as premier sponsors and featured speakers. In addition to hosting booth #225, members of the team will be presenting a session on a variety of topics including millennial procurement talent management.
