Willow Grove, PA (October 15, 2019) – The nation’s ongoing trade war with China has meant a great deal of concern for U.S. supply chain professionals. Worse still, it’s a mystery if, when, and how the conflict will eventually end. Sam Cagle, a Senior Analyst at Source One, will discuss the issue on November 6th in a webinar sponsored by the Institute for Supply Chain Management (ISM)’s New Jersey chapter. Cagle will not only address the uncertainty of Procurement’s current situation, but present solutions for navigating through trade disputes.
“America’s escalating tariffs affect businesses in just about every industry,” states Cagle, “and the worst part is that many aren’t fully aware the degrees to which they’re vulnerable.” Cagle aims to clear up some of the fog surrounding the subject of tariffs. He will also demonstrate how procurement leaders can strengthen supplier relationship management and improve spend visibility across their supply chains.
Effective Procurement professionals know that suppliers should serve as business partners. This sentiment is even more important in disordered situations like trade wars. “If tariffs are affecting you,” Cagle continues, “it’s more than likely they’re affecting your suppliers as well. I hope my webinar leaves attendees feeling more confident in their abilities to reach out to their supply base and address trade uncertainty as a team.”
Cagle’s webinar adds to the list of Source One and ISM’s collaborations. At the end of October, Source One consultant, Brandon Hummons, will lead a panel discussion with his ISM-Chicago’s Emerging Leaders Commitee. He’ll join a group of Procurement recruiting, staffing, and talent development experts to discuss the function’s pervasive talent gap.
Source One’s spend management team will end 2019 by leading a panel at Consero’s Procurement and Strategic Sourcing forum in December. They will lead a conversation between several Supply Chain executives on the subject of strategic tail spend management.
